Testing Process:
Professional Certification is a two part process. The first half of your evaluation will be conducted at your place of employment during a time determined by your employer to be the lowest business volume. You will be interviewed regarding your past experience in Bartending/Mixology, then evaluated on product and industry knowledge, recipes and bar operations. This takes approximately two hours to complete and is worth 200 points. The second part of the evaluation will be conducted at a time determined by your employer to be the highest business volume where you will be evaluated on recipes, technique, speed, accuracy, creativity and customer service. This takes approximately two hours to complete and is worth 200 points.
A passing grade for your evaluation is: 385 points
Applicants who successfully pass the evaluation are awarded a Professional Certification Certificate and are listed along with their employer in the "Certified Professionals" section of our website. Certificates are sent by mail after the evaluations are reviewed by the college. All certificates issued to successful applicants are certified and notarized by the Red Seal Notary.
Applicants who do not successfully pass the evaluation will be given a grace period of 30 days in which to schedule a re-evaluation for an additional prescribed fee. Applicants are allowed only one re-evaluation. If the applicant is again unsuccessful, the applicant may re-apply only after a period of one year.
Regardless of passing or failing, all applicants are provided with a copy of the instructors evaluation. The findings of the instructor performing the evaluations are final and results are not disputable.
